Early goal hands Valletta victory

Valletta defeated Mosta 1-0 to remain in a comfortable position at the top of the BOV Premier League standings.

 

Valletta were not at their best even though they dominated the game which handed coach Steve D'Amato his first defeat since he took over at Mosta.

It did not take long for Valletta to score. Four minutes into the match, Ouseeni Zongo beat goalkeeper Jonathan Debono with his shot to give Valletta the lead.

Gilbert Agius went close to score for Valletta when his shot his the crossbar one minute before the end of the first half.

Michel Maki Mvondo almost scored for Mosta just two minutes into the second half when his attempt from inside the area went wide.

The match ended with Valletta collecting all three points thanks to their early goal in the first half.

Roderick Briffa was voted BOV Player of the Match.
