Italian media echoes Catania’s director’s criticism of Meridien Hotel
Italian media have spiralled comments made this morning in Malta by Serie A football club Catania director, describing treatment at Le Meridien Hotel as “scandalous.”
Catania F.C. director general Pietro Lo Monaco announced this morning that he is pulling his team out of the Le Meridien Hotel, St. Julian's and returning home tonight rather than tomorrow, after what he described as "scandalous treatment" from the hotel staff and administration.
Lo Monaco who addressed Italian and Maltese media about the abrupt conclusion of their winter camp in Malta, said that the issue with the Le Meridien Hotel in St. Julian's had nothing to do with the Malta Football Association.
"The MFA were correct in all they did with us, and we are grateful for the facilities they offered," Lo Monaco said.

Beg to elaborate about the short comings otherwise one should consider this Sicilian's outburst as pure bull droppings. Having friends staying at said hotel for the last four or five years I always got the impression that they get good service at the Meridian and talking from experience maltese hotels are in the majority good and value for money.

There's nothing like a bit of good publicity to increase one's bednights!
