Special Olympics team leave Malta for Italy training camp

A team from Special Olympics Malta left this morning for Lodi in Italy to participate in a training event with top Italian athletes. The event, which is being held over the weekend, will culminate in a competition and will give Maltese athletes a great opportunity to train prior to the Summer Games in Poland happening in September. The team will also have the chance to compare their performance to foreign participants and to become familiar with a competition on an international level. The experience will be of great benefit to the Maltese athletes, in preparation for their participation in the September games. The Maltese athletes are being hosted by Special Olympics Italy and supported by Vodafone Malta Foundation.
