Marsaxlokk suffer fifth consecutive loss

Birkirkara were the dominant side throughout the match and Marsaxlokk were lucky no to lose by a greater margin.

Marsaxlokk had the first attempt on goal four minutes into the match but Gary Caruana's effort was turned into a corner by goalkeeper Reuben Gauci.

One minute later, Birkirkars managed to take the lead when off a Alane Tabone free kick, Moises Avila Perez headed the ball in past goalkeeper Christian Cassar.

Gary Caruana went close to scoring for Marsaxlokk on the 13^th minute but his header was denied by the woodwork.

Birkirkara continued to have numerous attempts on goal, but some exceptional goalkeeping by Christian Cassar kept the ball out of the net.

With this victory Birkirkara move fourth on level points with Sliema Wanderers who still have a game in hand.

Christian Cassar was voted BOV Player of the Match.
