Floriana have now been without defeat for their last eight matches. For Qormi, it is a totally different story as this was their fourth defeat in their last five matches.

Qormi started the match on a positive note when they went ahead on the 14th minute. Off a cross from Stuart Duff, Jorge Pereira da Silva chested down the ball to Abubakar Bello-Osagie who then made no mistake when he beat the Floriana goalkeeper with his shot.

The match turned sour for Floriana when they were reduced to ten-men on the 24th minute. Eric Akoto was sent off for a tackle from behind on Matthew Bartolo.

This did not stop Floriana from playing their game as they leveled matters on the 31st minute. Clyde Borg beat goalkeeper Matthew Farrugia with his shot.

Floriana started to gain confidence and it finally paid off when they took the lead on the 45th minute.

Off a corner, Grabowski's was denied with his attempt on goal, but off the rebound Christian Caruana made sure Floriana took the lead with his goal.

In the second half, Qormi were more in control, but they failed in their effort to steal the points from Floriana.

Matthew Bartolo was voted BOV Player of the Match
