Tarxien sink deeper into crisis
Hibernians are back to winning ways after they defeated Tarxien Rainbows 2-1.
This defeat added more pressure to Tarxien as it is their sixth defeat in their last seven matches.
It did not take long for Hibernains to show their dominance when they took the lead on the 9th minute.
A fantastic freekick by Andrew Cohen left no chance for goalkeeper David Cassar to give his team the lead.
Hibernians continued to dominate the match and on the 22nd minute off a cross from Marcelo Dias, Peter Anizoba headed the ball in past David Cassar.
Cassar was kept busy in the second half with Hibernians continuing their attack.
On the 77th minute, Tarxien were back in the match thanks to a penalty being awarded to them. Jonathan Person brought down Karl Pulo inside the area leaving the referee with no other choice than to point to the penalty spot.
Jimmy Nzinga-Mayasi made no mistake by beating goalkeeper Mario Muscat with his effort.
Tarxien pressed for the equaliser and went close in the final seconds of the match with a effort from Warren Zerafa but it was saved by Mario Muscat.
Andrew Cohen was voted BOV Player of the Match.
