Unbeaten run ends for Floriana

With this victory Mosta climb to eighth place in the standings, three behind seventh p[lace Qormi.

This defeat for Floriana ended their nine game unbeaten run. Floriana now are five points behind second placed Hibernians and nine behind leaders Valletta.

Mosta started the game as the better side and managed to take the lead on the 26^th minute. Obinna Obiefule advanced inside the area to beat goalkeeper Manuel Bartolo with his low shot.

Mosta went close again just three minutes later when Obinna Obiefule's effort was blocked by the Floriana goalkeeper.

Floriana went close just before the end of the first half when a Pablo Doffo freekick hit the woodwork to deny his team the equaliser.

Floriana managed to score the equaliser on the 67^th minute. Off a freekick by Pablo Doffo, the Mosta goalkeeper deflected Andre Grabowski's header, but off the rebound Grabowski would not be denied.

As the match went into added time, it seemed both teams would be sharing the points but Mosta managed to score the winning goal to end Floriana's unbeaten run.

Kurt Magro served Obinna Obiefule who then dribbled past Owen Bugeja to then beat goalkeeper Manuel Bartolo with his shot to give Mosta victory.

Pablo Doffo was voted BOV Player of the Match.
