Totti backs Adriano signing

The 28-year-old former Interista flew in yesterday for a medical and then signed a three-year contract.

Writing on his official website, Totti said he expects great things from his new team-mate.

“I am sure that Adriano will manage to demonstrate his qualities at Roma,” Totti wrote.

“Together we could do great things for a great Roma. I want to welcome the Emperor.

“It really was destiny that Adriano came to play in the capital with the red and yellow jersey.

“Everyone of us will do our best to make him feel at home. He'll get the reception he deserves and the warmth of the fans.

“We will help him in every way to fit into the group. Among other things, he will find many Brazilians who he knows very well, having played with many of them for Brazil.”
