Hibernians defeated Mosta 2-1 to keep the pressure on leaders Valletta.

This victory for Hibernians makes it four in a row, while Mosta are now sure they will be playing in the Relegation Pool after this defeat.

Hibernians started immediately on the attack. Jackson Lima went close just two minutes into the match, but his shot went high.

On the 10th minute, Hibernians pressure prevailed as they managed to score the opening goal. Off a cross by Edward Herrera, Andrew Cohen headed the ball in past goalkeeper Jonathan Debono.

The lead did not last to long as Mosta were back in the match when the equalized on the 24th minute. Obinna Obiefule beat goalkeeper Mario Muscat with his shot when he received a perfect cross from Gilbert Martin.

On the 40th minute, Hibernians managed to regain the lead. Jackson Lima Di Siqueira's powerful shot from outside the area left no chance for goalkeeper Jonathan Debono.

In the second half, both teams shared chances in front of goal, but Hibernians managed to protect their lead to remain just one point behind Valletta who have a game in hand.

Andrew Cohen was voted BOV Player of the Match.
