Inter humiliated by Bologna as Napoli defeat Fiorentina
Inter suffered their third straight defeat in Serie A after they were defeated by Bologna 3-0 yesterday evening.
Two goals from Marco Di Vaio and another from Robert Acquafresca did the the job to officially put Inter in crisis.
Horrible errors from Inter's defence allowed Bologna to take advantage and score. As Inter held the initiative during most of the match, Bologna took advantage of Inter's out of form defence to score each time on a counter-attack.
Inter's president Massimo Moratti left the match early as Inter supporters shouted former coach Jose Mourinho's name throughout the match.
After the match, Inter coach Claudio Ranieri apologised to the president and the fans for the humiliating defeat.
When asked if he would resign, Ranieri was quick to answer that he would continue working to make things right.
This down turn in form could not have come at a worst time as Inter now face Marseille in the Champions League next Wednesday.
Reports from Italy are already suggesting that former Inter player Luis Figo could be the next person to replace the Italian coach.
Meanwhile in the other match of the evening, Napoli defeated Fiorentina 3-0 to move up to fifth place in the Serie A standings.
Napoli's Edison Cavani scored a double as Lavezzi made sure Napoli took all three points home with the third goal of the evening.
This is Napoli's second victory in a row and it gives them a great boost before their Champions League clash with out of form Chelsea next Tuesday evening.
