Birkirkara put three past Tarxien

Birkirkara are back to winning ways after they defeated Tarxien Rainbows 3-1 Saturday afternoon.

With this victory, Birkirkara move up to fourth place in the BOV Premier League standings while Tarxien remain in tenth place.

Birkirkara immediately showed their dominance when they took the lead three minutes into the match. Shaun Bajada provided a great pass to Jorge Santos Silva who then beat goalkeeper Nicholas George Vella with his shot.

Tarxien's Ricardo Costa had his shot on the 12th minute blocked by goalkeeper Reuben Gauci.

Tarxien kept pressing for the equaliser when three minutes later Jimmy Mayasi's shot was also blocked by Gauci.

Birkirkara were awarded a penalty on the 28th minute after Lee Galea brought Mifsud Triganza down inside the area. Goalkeeper Nicholas George Vella blocked Shola Shodiya's effort.

Birkirkara managed to double their lead on the 40th minute when off a pass by Angus Buhagiar to Shaun Bajada, the latter managed to easily put the ball past the Tarxien goalkeeper after exchanging passes with Shodiya Haruna Shola.

Shaun Bajada made it 3-0 on the 48th minute when his shot beat Nicholas George Vella after receiving a precise pass from Jeanne Pierre Mifsud Triganza.

Tarxien managed to score a consolation goal on the 81st minute when Ricardo Costa served Daniel Mariano Bueno who then beat Reuben Gauci with his shot.

Shaun Bajada was voted BOV Player of the Match.
