Victory for Qormi not enough to avoid Relegation Pool

The victory did not save Qormi from playing in the Relegation Pool.

Three minutes into the match, Qormi had a great chance to take the lead when Triston Caruana's shot heading for goal, but Marsaxlokk's Sunday Eboh cleared the ball to safety.

On the 22^nd, minute, Marsaxlokk were reduced to ten-men after Trevor Templeman received his second yellow card.

 A minute later, a freekick by Qormi's Joseph Farrugia went just over the bar.

Marsaxlokk surprised  Qormi after they took the lead on the 32^nd minute. Peter Taiye Oladotun served Alex Pedrozo who then beat goalkeeper Matthew Farrugia with his shot.

Marsaxlokk's lead did not last long as on the 37^th minute, Qormi managed to score the equaliser. Joseph Farrugia served Jorge da Silva to have the latter beat goalkeeper Christian Cassar with his low shot.

Second before the half-time whistle, Qormi managed to take the lead. Off a corner by Jorge Pereira da Silva, Stephen Wellman served Triston Caruana who made no mistake scoring from close range.

The second half remained goalless to have Qormi protect their lead and collect all three points.

Joseph Farrugia was voted BOV Player of the Match.
