Roma set to offer Claudio Ranieri 2013 extension
Roma are ready to offer Claudio Ranieri a two year extension on his current deal, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.
A stellar season in which he led the club from bottom to second, taking the title fight to the final day, was enough to convince the club he deserves a new deal.
Ranieri has not met president Rosella Sensi officially over an extension, but they have spoken about it.
Once he returns from his summer holiday on July 8 the club will unshelve plans for the renewal. He will sign on until 2013 and will earn close to €2million per annum plus bonuses.
Ranieri is likely to accept the deal as it represents a mild increase in his current wages.
Indications from Rome suggest a verbal agreement between club and coach is in place, and the will is to put pen to paper.
