Birkirkara and Sliema share the points

Sliema did not waste any time before they took the lead. On the ninth minute, off a corner by Ryan Fenech, Josef Mifsud did not miss with his header in front of goal, leaving no chance for goalkeeper Reuben Gauci.

Birkirkara were back in the match on the 14^th minute. A cross by Ryan Scicluna was intercepted by Jorge Santos Silva who then beat the Sliema Wanderers goalkeeper with his shot.

On the 53^rd minute, Birkirkara lost a precious opportunity to forge ahead. Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza was brought down inside the area by Clifford Gatt Baldacchino. Henry Bonello saved Mifsud Triganza's effort from the penalty spot.

In added time, Clifford Gatt Baldacchinio was sent off after he received his second yellow card.
