Benitez already has Manchester City in his plans
Rafa wants to return to the premier league according to The Daily Star
Rafa Benitez is already plotting a shock return to the Premier League – and would love to boss Man City.
Benitez’s controversial Liverpool reign ended with his switch to Inter Milan after six years on Merseyside.
But the Spaniard and his family loved their stay in England with his two daughters Claudia, 11, and Agatha, 8, flourishing in English schools. So much so that Benitez and his wife Montse have decided not to sell of their luxurious Liverpool home.
They want to keep the 5million Wirral mansion for the Benitezes plan to return in two years time when his Inter contract runs out.
Benitez has always been on City’s radar as a prospective boss as the Abu Dhabi owners push for Premier League and European dominance.
It is understand he was sounded out 12 months ago for the job but decided then to stay with Liverpool.
Now if Benitez shows a serious intent in the near future, the door will always be open for him to return to England with City.
Benitez definitely wants to come back to what he calls his second home. So does Montse who was settled completely on the Wirral.
Their home is the most expensive in that part of millionaires’ row and will be rented out until the Benitez family fly back to England.
Benitez is expected to continue Inter's dominence in Serie A and in Europe. Benitez has inherited a team of champions and failing to build on last year's performance at the San Siro could result in Benitez returning to England sooner than anticipated.
It was thought Mourinho leaving Inter would end the speculation and questions in each press conference if the coach was going to stay or go. But the fans are in for a shock as Benitez has not even coached a match yet and it seems the media circus is starting again.
