Inter want Fernando - Guarin

Fredy Guarin has revealed that Inter Milan have sought his opinion on former Porto team-mate Fernando.

The Colombia international spent the second half of last season on loan at San Siro from Porto and has since made his switch to the Serie A giants permanent.

He has now admitted that his employers have sounded out his thoughts on the Brazilian, who he believes to be an excellent talent.

"Inter are very interested in Fernando. They have asked me about him and I had nothing but good things to say to them," Guarin told O Jogo.

"He is a top player, who would help any team out a whole lot. If he chose to come play his football at Inter in the future, then I would be very happy."

The 25-year-old joined Porto from Brazilian club Vila Nova in 2007, but has not yet been called up to represent the national team.

Inter have been active in the transfer window, bringing in the likes of Rodrigo Palacio, Samir Handanovic and Matias Silvestre as they look to improve on last season's sixth place finish in Serie A.
