Floriana win as Hamrun and Tarxien share the points

Both sides came close to scoring early in the match, but it was Floriana who took the lead on the 12^th minute. Ryan Darmanin headed the ball past goalkeeper Matthew Camilleri.

On the 36^th minute, Rennie Forace served Elton Alexandre da Silva who then had his low shot beat goalkeeper Jurgen Borg.

Floriana had to wait till the 81^st minute before they regained the lead. A perfect freekick by Aman Verma left no chance for goalkeeper Matthew Camilleri.

Floriana sealed all three points on the 84^th minute when Ryan Darmanin served Trevor Cilia with a perfect pass to have the latter beat Matthew Camilleri with his shot from close range.

Aman Verma was voted BOV Player of the Match.

In the earlier match, Hamrun Spartans and Tarxien Rainbows played to a 1-1 draw.

Tarxien took the lead on the 36^th minute. A freekick by Evaldo Silva dos Santos hit the woodwork , off the rebound Daniel Mariano Bueno headed the ball past goalkeeper Andrea Cassar.

The match turned for the worse for Hamrun when they were reduced to ten-men on the 58^th minute after goalkeeper Andrea Cassar handled the ball outside the area. Anthony Curmi replaced Cassar in goal while David Camilleri made way for Curmi.

Even though Hamrun were on man down, they continued to press for the equaliser, and on the 88^th minute they were awarded a penalty after Evaldo Silva dos Santos brought Lyubomir Vitanov down inside the area. Massimo Grima made no mistake from the penalty spot to equalise.

Daniel Mariano Bueno was voted BOV Player of the match.
