Valletta maintain perfect record as Birkirkara defeat Tarxien

This is Hibernians first defeat this season as they also were on a perfect run of victories before this match.

Valletta started off the match creating more chances than Hibernians. Joao Gabriel da Silva had a good scoring opportunity in the first ten minutes but it went wide. Michael Mifsud had a chance as well on the 13^th minute but it went over the bar.

Mifsud hit the woodwork on the 24^th minute with a powerful shot off a pass from Denni Rocha dos Santos.

Valletta managed to score the goal that would secure them the three points on the 74^th minute when Shaun Bajada served Gabriel da Silva who then went on to beat goalkeeper Daniel Balzan with his low shit.

Dennis Rocha dos Santos was voted BOV Player of the Match.

In the other match, Birkirkara returned to winning ways after they defeated Tarxien Rainbows 3-1.

Birkirkara did not waste no time right after the start as they scored the first goal as early as the fourth minute. A cross by Edward Herrera was headed in goal past goalkeeper David Cassar by Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza.

17 minutes intot he match, Birkirkara doubled their lead. After receiving a pass by Jhonnattann Benites da Conceicao, Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza made no mistake by finding the back of the net with his shot to make it 2-0.

Tarxien were back in the match when they scored just one minute before the end of the first half. Daniel Mariano Bueno’ shot was not completely saved by goalkeeper Reuben Gauci and Mark Tanti was there to score from the rebound.

The match turned for the worse for Tarxien as they were reduced to ten-men on the 59^th minute. Evaldo Silva dos Santos was sent off for hitting Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza.

Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza scored his third goal of the match on the 68^th minute. Another great pass by Jhonnattann to Triganza was enough for him to continue and beat goalkeeper David Cassar with his shot.

Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza was voted BOV Player of the Match.
