Birkirkara hold Valletta in top of the table clash

With this result, Valletta remain three points ahead of Birkirkara and four ahead of Hibernians who lost against Sliema in the other match of the day.

This is the first match of the season that Valletta has lost points.

Both teams had numerous chances in front of goal until Valletta took the lead on the 29^th minute.

Off a cross by Joao Gabriel da Silva, Roderick Briffa headed the ball past goalkeeper Reuben Gauci to give his team the lead.

Birkirkara did not take long to equalise as just three minutes later off a cross by Edward Herrera, Jhonnattann immediately passed to Paul Fenech who then beat goalkeeper Manuel Bartolo with his shot.

With both teams playing a careful match, few chances were seen in front of goal and the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
