Ivan Woods the hero as Sliema defeat Hibernians

Sliema went on to defeat Hibernians 4-0 with Ivan Woods notching a hat-trick.

Sliema immediately started the match as the better team and started to immediately create chances in front of their opponent's goal.

Sliema finally managed to take the lead on the 39^th minute. Hibernians defender Adrian Pulis deflected a cross by Luigi Ruggiero in the direction of Ivan Woods to have the latter beat goalkeeper Mario Muscat with his shot.

Sliema were awarded a penalty on the 72^nd minute when John Mintoff was brought down by Rodolfo Soares inside the area. Ivan Woods made no mistake from the penalty spot to make the score 2-0.

Sliema were very close to scoring the third goal when goalkeeper Mario Muscat lost the ball to Matias Muchardi who then went on to shoot towards goal but Ryan Camilleri cleared the ball off the goal line on the 83^rd minute.

On the 90^th minute, Sliema made sure they secured all three points when John Muscat served Matias Muchardi who then went on to beat goalkeeper Mario Muscat with his shot.

In added time, John Mintoff served Ivan Woods who then went on to scoring his third of the night and making the final score 4-0.

Ivan Woods was voted BOV Player of the Match.
