Birkirkara win in style

Birkirkara are back to winning ways after they defeated Mosta 7-1. This was a great result for Birkirkara after they suffered a defeat against Valletta last week.

Five minutes into the match, Birkirkara managed to take the lead thanks to
Jhonnattann Benites da Conceicao who scored from close range.
On the 18th minute, Birkirkara were awarded a penalty after Ferdinando Apap handled the ball inside the area. Shola Shodiya beat goalkeeper Jeffrey Farrugia with his shot from the penalty spot, but referee Chris Lautier ordered a re-take and Farrugia denied Shodiya the second time around.
On the 26th minute, Birkirkara made it 2-0. Off a cross by Jhonnattann, Paul Fenech hit the woodwork with his attempt on goal. Off the rebound Fenech served Harun Shola who beat goalkeeper Jeffrey Farrugia from close range.
On the 30th minute, Birkirkara increased their lead when Jhonnattann flicked the ball over the rushing Mosta goalkeeper to then tap the ball into a empty net.
Seconds before the first half ended, Mosta managed to reduce the gap thanks to a brilliant freekick by Danail Mitev.
On the 59th minute, Jhonnattann scored his third of the night after he received a precise pass from Shola Shodiya.
On the 70th minute, Edward Herrera made it 5-1 for Birkikara thanks to a great header that left no chance for Jeffrey Farrugia.
Birkirkara were looking unstoppable as just one minute later Harun Shola Shodiya scored Birkirkara's sixth goal of the night.
On the 88th minute, substitute Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza scored again for Birkirkara to make the final score 7-1.
Jhonnattann Benites da Conceicao was voted BOV Player of the Match.
