Sliema defeat Hamrun thanks to Muchardi brace

Matias Muchardi scored two goals to secure Sliema Wanderers a place in the Championship Pool after they defeated Hamrun Spartans 2-0.

Hamrun Spartans continued endure a horrible season as this defeat was their eleventh in twelve matches.

As both teams had decent attempts on goal early in the match, Sliema managed to take the lead on the 38th minute.

Matias Muchardi had his low shot beat goalkeeper Anthony Curmi from close range.

Hamrun almost scored the equaliser on the 54th minute, but Ayrton Micallef had his shot hit the woodwork.

Sliema doubled the score on the 82nd minute thanks to another goal by Muchardi.

Iam Zammit served Matias Muchardi who then dribbled the ball past the goalkeeper to score from close range.

Matias Muchardi was voted BOV Player of the Match.
