Rabat and Floriana both earn important victories

Rabat Ajax - Qormi 2-1

Rabat ajax continued their positive run after they came back from behind to deafeat Qormi 2-1.

Qormi took the lead on the 32nd minute when off a cross by Leighton Grech, Edison Bilbao Zarate beat goalkeeper Sean Mintoff with his shot.

Qormi were reduced to ten men on the 60th minute when Jonathan Bondin picked up his second yellow card.

Rabat equalised on the 83rd when Malcolm Licari beat goalkeeper Steve Sultana with his header.

Rabat scored the winning goal one minute into added time when Yan Cauchi found the back of the net with his powerful shot.

Diego Carrillo Pendas was voted BOV Player of the Match.

Melita - Floriana 1-2

Floriana started the Relegation Pool with a 2-1 victory over Melita.

Floriana took the lead on the 27th minute when Igor Coronado's low shot beat Melita goalkeeper Guillermo Gabilondo Garcia.

Floriana doubled their lead on the 67th minute when Brook Farrugia served Udo Nwoko. Nwoko went on the beat the Melita goalkeeper with his precise shot.

On the 80th minute, Melita managed to reduce Floriana's lead when Julian Galea beat goalkeeper Tony Warner with his shot from close range.

Igor Coronado was voted BOV Player of the Match.
