Floriana edge closer to safety with victory over Hamrun
Floriana are one step away from securing their Premier League status after a Igor Coronado hat-trick secured them a vital victory over Hamrun Spartans.
This defeat would be Hamrun's seventh from their last eight matches.
With this result, Floriana are on top of the Relegation Pool with 22 points.
Hamrun sit third from the bottom.
Floriana showed the initiative from the start of the match as they had numerous attempts on goal.
On the 29th minute, Floriana managed to take the lead. Off a cross by Carl Tremarco, Igor Coronado headed the ball past goalkeeper Anthony Curmi.
Just after the start of the second half Hamrun players protested indicating that goalkeeper Tony Warner handled the ball outside the area.
In added time, Coronado scored his second of the match to give Floriana a two goal lead.
Two minutes into stoppage time, Coronado completed his hat-trick when off a pass by Trevor Cilia, Coronado beat Anthony Curmi with his shot.
Igor Coronado was voted BOV Player of the Match.
