UEFA Europa League: Valletta - KS Ruch Chorzów

Valletta will be hosting KS Ruch Chorzów of Poland in the first leg of the UEFA Europa League second qualifying round at the Centenary Stadium on tonight, kick-off will be at 17:00. 

Tonight’s match will be the first outing for Jesmond Zerafa’s side after the Euro Cup. Midfielder Edmond and Kenneth Scicluna are unavailable through injury. Newly signed Jonathan Caruana, Ramon Dos Santos, Denni Dos Santos and Omonigho Temile should all make their debut in tonight’s match.

KS Ruch Chorzów come from Chorzów, Upper Silesia, Poland. It is one of the most successful football teams in Poland, 14 time national champion, 3 time winner of the Polish Cup. Currently (2009/2010 season). The club plays in the top Polish league, the Ekstraklasa.

The last time KS Ruch Chorzów played in the UEFA Europa League (UEFA CUP) was in 2000/2001 when they were eliminated by current Italian and European Champions Inter on a 7-1 aggregate.

KS Ruch Chorzów strikers Artur Sobiech and Damian Świerblewskiego are both missing for the Polish side; Sobiech is suspended after receiving two yellow cards, while Damian is recovering from an injury.
