Quaresma has nightmare start in UEFA Europa League match with Beşiktaş
Former Inter player Ricardo Quaresma who was sold to Beşiktaş at the end of last season started his new adventure by missing a penalty shot.
Ricardo Quaresma had a horrible time with Inter Milan. He was hand picked by ex-coach Jose Mourinho to join the team.
Quaresma spent most of his time on the bench and he could not play a game without getting hassled by the Inter fans. He had a loan stint with Chelsea which was not that successful as well.
At the end the season, Inter sold Quaresma to Turkish side Beşiktaş for €7million. On his arrival he was given a huge reception with fans flocking the airport to get a glimpse of the new star.
But yesterday in the UEFA Europa League qualifier against Vikingur, the Beşiktaş fans could not believe their eyes when Ekrem Dağ won a penalty kick for Beşiktaş on the 77-minute mark. The star player Quaresma was given the honors to take the shot... but the shot went over the bar. Beşiktaş still won the match 3-0, but for Quaresma it probably did not matter, as his adventure already started on a low.
