MFA Annual Awards Ceremony
The MFA Awards Ceremony held on Friday evening brought to an impressive climax a season during which the best players of every category were rewarded for their individual input within the collective framework of the team they played for
The climax of the evening was the announcement that Shaun Bajada of Birkirkara topped the bill as the season's Footballer of the Year, eclipsing the other finalists (in alphabetical order), Gilbert Agius (Valletta), Trevor Cilia (Birkirkara), Denni Rocha Dos Santos (Tarxien) and Kevin Sammut (Valletta).
Besides this top award there were 16 other individual honours, six best players in the Futsal, Youths and Women's sections and those in the BOV First, Second and Third Divisions, and the top scorer in each of ten categories, four in the Futsal divisions, two in the Women's First and Second Division Leagues, and four others in each of the four divisions of the national league.
Team honours were also presented for Fair Play in each of the four divisions in the national league, Youth League, and Women's League and the overall winners.
The presentations were made by MFA President, Dr Joe Mifsud and Parliamentary Secretary for Youth and Sport, Clyde Puli.
