Inter Club Malta celebrates its 35th anniversary

On the 18th August 2013 Inter Club Malta had its 35th birthday. For this special occasion, the club’s committee prepared a one year programme full of activities where every month activities would be organised with special guests from Internazionale F.C.

The first activity was held on Friday 30th August with a party organised at the club's premises in Sta. Venera where various guests like ex committee members, benefactors, reps from local media and other supporters' clubs were invited. The guest of honour was Malta's Footballer of the Year 2012/13, Paul Fenech whom is a staunch Inter supporter. Paul plays for Premier League Champions, B' Kara F.C.

In this special occasion, like in previous years, the ‘Member of the Year' award was also presented. The winner of the "Ambaxxatur Anthony Debono Shield" was the club's photographer Charles Vassallo. Mr. Vassallo distinguished himself from others by giving a good helping hand to the committee and attending all the activities organised by the club, obviously with his ever present, his sophisticated camera.

The club's President, Mr. John Zammit made a short speech for the occasion where he thanked and praised all those whom in the past made part of the club's committee especially the co-founders Joe Bugelli and Lawrence Cutajar. He also thanked all those who were members in any of these last 35 years. Mr. Zammit said that it is not easy to run a club, more and more to keep it alive and kicking for these last 35 years.

He mentioned also that himself together with the club's treasurer Mr. Lawrence Cutajar, have been in the helm of the club for these last 19 years and they continued on the good foundations built by their predecessor, Mr. Joe Bugelli. Mr. Zammit also thanked Inter F.C. and the ‘Centro Coordinamento Inter Clubs' for giving their precious support to the club especially when they had sent to Malta all the five trophies won by Inter in 2010. He augured that the club will keep on going for much more years and appealed to all Inter fans to join and make part of the Inter Club's big family.

At the end of the evening's gathering, all the guests were presented with a memento and a big cake made for this special occasion by the club's vice-president, Paul Fenech il-Percius, was cut by the club's members of the committee.
