Derby victory for Mosta as Hibernians defeat Qormi

Mosta were made to work hard for a 4-2 derby victory over Naxxar Lions.
Both teams went on the attack, having a number of scoring opportunities.
It would be Mosta who would take the lead on the 28th minute.
Off a corner by Ricardino, Lukas Duriska's shot on goal was blocked by goalkeeper Julian Azzopardi and off the rebound Manolito Micallef's powerfull shot ended at the back of the net.
Mosta did not take long to double their score as just after a minute it was 2-0. Bojan Kalevic powerful shot left no chance for goalkeeper Julian Azzopardi.
Naxxar managed to reduce Mosta's lead five minutes into the second half. Off a freekick by Pablo Doffo, Thiago Lopez de Souza's precise header left no chance for goalkeeper Omar Borg.
Naxxar were back in the game after they equalised on the 55th minute. Ousseni Zongo served Daren Falzon who then had his shot hit the woodwork before it ended up at the back of the net.
Both sides pressed to take the lead and Mosta managed to make it 3-2 on the 68th minute. Off a throw-in, Ryan Grech's powerful shot from a long distance left no chance for Julian Fenech.
Mosta made sure they collected all three points when they made it 4-2 on the 90th minute.
Bojan Kaljevic's cross was intercepted by Ricardo Faria Silva who then had his powerful shot beat the Naxxar goalkeeper.

Hibernians 4

BOV Premier League leaders maintained their winning streak after they defeated Qormi 4-1.
Hibernians could not have had a better start to the match after they took the lead just after 35 seconds of play.
Off a cross by Jackson di Lima Siqueira, Andrew Cohen headed the ball past goalkeeper Matthew Farrugia.
Hibernians made the score 2-0 on the fourth minute. A low powerful shot from outside the area beat goalkeeper Matthew Farrugia.
On the 27th minute, Hibernians scored their third goal of the match. Off a cross by Cohen, Edison Luis dos Santos headed the ball past Farrugia.
On the 67th minute, Hibernians practically secured their victory when Rodolfo scored with a brilliant header after receiving a cross for Clayton Failla.
Qormi managed to score a consolation goal on the 86th minute. Leaighton Grech served Jorge Pereira da Silva who then had his shot beat goalkeeper Mario Muscat.
Edison Luis Dos Santos was voted BOV Player of the Match.

Vittoriosa Stars managed to defeat Rabat Ajax 1-0 to make it two victories in a row.
On the 9th minute, Vittoriosa would score the goal that would give them all three points. Marcelo Pereira served Oscar Guerrero who then had his shot from close range beat goalkeeper Pavle Velimirovic.

Balzan 1

Tarxien Rainbows returned to winning ways after they defeated Balzan 3-1.
Tarxien had to wait till the 39th minute before they took the lead. When Everton Souza Santos had his cross handled by a Balzan defender, the referee immediately pointed to the penalty spot. Ronaille Calheira Seara converted to give his team the lead.
Tarxien doubled their lead on the 56th minute. Carlo Mamo beat goalkeeper Daniel Miguelez Martinez with his shot.
Balzan managed to reduce the gap on the 62nd minute. A shot by Lydon Micallef was partially saved by goalkeeper Nicky Vella and off the rebound, Jose Luis Armario Negrin found the back of the net with his shot.
Tarxien's Ronaille Calheira Seara made the final score 3-1 when he scored on the 90th minute.
Everton Souza Santos was voted BOV Player of the Match.
