Hibernians held as Qormi defeat Mosta

Hibernians did not get the result they wanted as they were held by Floriana in a 2-2 draw.

This leaves Hibernians just two points ahead of Valletta and three points ahead of Birkirkara.

Floriana took the lead on the 20th minute when Steve Pisani beat goalkeeper Mario Muscat.

Hibernians equalised four minutes later when Rodolfo Soares headed the ball in goal past goalkeeper Daniel Hanford.

On the 28th minute, Hibernians managed to take the lead thanks to Clayton Faila.

Floriana did not sit back and on the 78th minute, Igor Coronado beat Mario Muscat with his shot to make the final score 2-2.

Igor Cornado was voted BOV Player of the Match.

In the other match of the day, Qormi managed to end their disappointing run and defeat Mosta 2-1.

Qormi took the lead on the 19th minute when Alfred Effiong managed to beat goalkeeper Omar Borg with a low shot.

Mosta scored the equaliser on the 75th minute. A shot by Manolito Micallef was deflected by Qormi's Owen Bugeja past goalkeeper Matthew Farrugia to make the score 1-1.

On the 79th minute, Qormi managed to take the lead after they were awarded a penalty. From the penalty spot Roderick Bajada beat goalkeeper Omar Borg.

Alfred Effiong was voted BOV Player of the Match.
