Napoli and Juventus win as Fiorentina add more misery to Milan

Napoli moved within two points of Serie A leaders Roma as they claimed a 2-1 win over Catania.

Jose Callejon opened the scoring after 15 minutes and the lead was doubled five minutes later as Marek Hamsik found the target.

Lucas Castro reduced the deficit in the 25th minute but Napoli dominated the remainder of the game and the visitors were lucky to lose by just a single goal.

Paul Pogba scored the only goal at Parma to ensure Juventus maintained their winning run ahead of a crucial Champions League tie against Real Madrid in midweek.

Pogba decided a hard-fought encounter 13 minutes from the end when he was quickest to the ball after Fabio Quagliarella's long-range effort crashed back off the crossbar.

The Frenchman still needed to keep his cool to beat Parma goalkeeper Antonio Mirante and secure a third win on the spin since Juve were beaten at the Bernabeu a fortnight ago.

Fiorentina moved into fourth place in the standings thanks to a 2-0 win over AC Milan.

Juan Vargas gave the Viola the lead in the 27th minute with a deflected free-kick before Borja Valero wrapped up victory midway through the second half with a tap in.

The result was another blow to Milan, who are now winless in their last four games in all competitions and have won just two of their past nine league games to lie 10th in the standings.

The defeat leaves them 16 points adrift of third-place Juventus and the last Champions League qualifying spot, with the pressure on coach Massimiliano Allegri likely to increase.
