We are not on the same level as Inter - Chiellini

Giorgio Chiellini has pledged his allegiance to Juventus, insisting he has never felt even close to an exit.

After the end of last season, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid were reported to have offers for Chiellini, but he was quick to rubbish those reports.

The stopper has assured he will not be leaving the club and underscored the importance of reaching Champions League qualification after stumbling last season.

"I am happy to stay to help the team return to being great again. I have never felt like I was being sold," he told the press.

"Our minimum objective is to qualify for the Champions League and there is the potential to return to being a competitive squad.

"We have a long season ahead of us now and the fans need to understand this as we begin a new cycle.

"We are not on the same level as Inter, but the qualities are there."

Previous reports had claimed Chiellini was asking the club for an increase in wages from his current deal which expires in 2013.
