[WATCH] Squirrel rumbles QPR-Leicester match

QPR and Leicester players were forced to take a five minute break during their match due to a pitch invasion from a pesky squirrel – but it’s not the first time the west Londoners have been invaded by the rodents.

The creature ran on to the pitch during the first-half today causing the referee to stop proceedings for two minutes, in a re-run of an incident which occurred between QPR and Everton in March 2012.

Leicester striker David Nugent thought he was the hero of the day when he chased the squirrel off the pitch, only for it to re-emerge shortly after.

But the critter was finally ejected from the ground, allowing play to continue.
