I'll be more satisfied now that Jose Mourinho has left - Eto'o

Inter striker and Cameroon international Samuel Eto'o has told Gazzetta dello Sport why he wants to forget last season.

Despite winning a historic treble under the guidance of now Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho, the Nerazzurro gave a strange interview in the third person outlining his dissatisfaction at playing an unfamiliar wide role under his former coach.

"I do not know how many goals he scored last season. If I do not reach the 25 goal mark, then I am not interested in such statistics. I do not even think about it."

"Last season you could see that Eto'o was in good shape, but he was not in his place, he sacrificed himself for Mourinho. Now he will sacrifice himself for the team and will help Benitez, he deserves it."

Last season Eto'o notched 15 goals in 47 appearances and has already made the point to new coach Rafa Benitez that he wants to be played up top and not sitting on the flank. In the weekend friendly against Manchester City Eto'o came on as a second half substitute in his favoured position.

Eto'o had become world renowned for his goal poaching abilities during his time with Barcelona, leading the line during a spectacular treble-winning season before leaving for Inter.
