Inter president Erick Thohir replies to Juventus statements
Inter president Erick Thohir has replied to statements made by Juventus's general manager Giuseppe Marotta after the transfer process of Fredy Guarin and Mirko Vucinic was stopped at the last minute.
The statement by Inter presdent Erick Thohir, was published on Inter's official website late Thursday evening in response to the declaration made by Juventus that Inter showed no respect for the two players Fredy Guarin and Mirko Vucinic, that were involved in the transfer.
"Throughout Inter's long and storied history, the club has always stood for integrity and honesty, and we have made it our mission to uphold and continue that tradition.
"During the January transfer window, Inter has taken part in numerous private discussions to improve our club both on and off the pitch. Conducted in a professional manner these discussions should remain private, making public comment before the negotiations are final only hurts the process," Thohir said.
"In everything I do, I believe there are core principles of success, including being hard-working, honest and reliable. I am committed to living out these principles with Inter and pushing the club to achieve at the highest level."
Thohir said that it was his role to evaluate the performance of Inter's personnel and challenge the club to excel. "I cannot allow anyone outside our organization to publicly critique our internal processes, and will defend Inter and what we stand for with everything I have.
"At Inter, we have always acted responsibly and in good faith, and will continue to make decisions that are in the best interest of the club both now and for the future."
With this statement, it looks to be the end of any chance for Juventus' Mirko Vucinic to make the transfer to Inter. It also has been reported that Tottenham Hotspurs have made an offer of €10million for Inter's Fredy Guarin.
