Local referees on international duty

FIFA Assistant Referee Mariano Debono was one of eight Assistant Referees on duty during the 9th UEFA European U/19 Championship held in France last week, a competition won by the host country after beating Spain 2-1 in the final.

On Thursday 5th August FIFA Referee Marco Borg will be in charge of the UEFA Europa League Third Qualifying Round 2nd Leg match in Skopje between FK Teteks (formerly Macedonia) and the Swedish team IF Elfsborg. He will have Ingmar Spiteri and Konrad G. Borg as Assistant Referees, and Andre Arciola as Fourth Official.

The third Maltese official handed duty in Europe in the coming days is Esther Azzopardi. The Maltese FIFA Referee has been appointed to control matches in the UEFA Women's Champions League Qualifying Tournament which is being staged in Slovenia between the 4th and 11th August. Ms Azzopardi will be in charge of ASD Bardolino (Verona) v Swansea City Ladies on 5th August, ASD Bardolino (Verona) v FC Baia Zugdidi of Georgia, and she will be Fourth Official in the match between ZNK Krka (Slovenia) and ASD Bardolino (Verona).
