Rooney hat-trick inspires United as Arsenal and Chelsea fall behind

Manchester United are on course to another Premier League title after they defeated West Ham United 4-2 yesterday afternoon.

United showed they are the comeback kings as they were two goals down at the end of the first half. West Ham United managed to take the lead thanks to two penalties from Mark Noble. Patrice Evra handled the ball in the area for the first penalty and Vidic brought Carlton Cole down in the area for the second.

In the second half, Manchester United came back to life thanks to three goals from Wayne Rooney and a fourth from Hernandez.

With this victory Manchester United are now seven points clear on top of the Premier League standings. Arsenal remain in second with a game in hand.

Arsenal and Blackburn played to a goalless draw. This result sees Arsenal’s title hopes fade away.

Chelsea failed to take advantage of Arsenals draw as they played to a 1-1 draw against Stoke.

Stoke went ahead thanks to a goal from Jonathan Walters. Chelsea managed to equalise thanks to Didier Drogba. Fernando Torres was introduced in the match in the second half, but the new signing could not find the back of the net for Chelsea.

Roy Hodgson’s West Ham shocked his former club by defeating them 2-1. Martin Skrtel gave Liverpool the lead on the 50th  minute. West Ham managed to equalise and take the lead thanks to two penalties scored by Chris Brunt.

Other results:  Aston Villa and Everton played to a 2-2 draw.

Birmingham City defeated Bolton Wanderers 2-1.

Newcastle United defeated Wolves 4-1, and finally Wigan and Tottenham Hotspurs played to a 0-0 draw.
