Birkirkara walk over Hamrun

Birkirkara had no problem defeating Hamrun Spartans Saturday afternoon as they managed to win 4-0.

Birkirkara took the lead after 10 minutes of play when they were awarded a penalty. Luis Fernando Silva brought Terence Vella inside the area. Trevor Cilia converted from the penalty spot to give Birkirkara the lead.

Birkirkara made the score 2-0 on the 69th minute thanks to Angus Buhagiar. Terrence Vella Served Buhagiar who then had his powerful shot beat goalkeeper Omar Borg.

The situation went from bad to worse for Hamrun as they were reduced to ten men on the 75th minute. Carlo Polli received his second yellow card and was immediately sent off by referee Chris Lautier.

In added time, Birkirkara scored their third goal of the match. Substitute Leighton Grech had his low show beat goalkeeper Andrea Cassar.

Birkirkara were not satisfied and just two minutes later they scored their fourth of the match. Gareth Sciberras served Leighton Grech who then dribbled past goalkeeper Andrew Cassar to score.
