Tarxien defeat Rabat to continue positive run

This is Tarxien’s third consecutive victory, which puts them at the top of the table in the Relegation Pool.

Rabat remain at the bottom of the table with only four points.

The first have was a tricky test for Tarxien as Rabat kept them out of their goal.

Tarxien finally managed to break down Rabat’s defense on the 52nd minute. Off a cross from the left, Jorge Santos Silva advanced past the Rabat defence before he beat goalkeeper Pavle Velimirovic with his shot.

The match turned for the worse a minute later for Rabat when they where reduced to ten men after Jonathan Bajada received his second yellow card.

Tarxien doubled their lead on the 65th minute.

Off a cross by Daniel Mariano Bueno, Demba Toure beat goalkeeper Pavle Velimirovic with a brilliant goal from close range.

Tarxien kept on pressing till the end of the match, but the two goals were enough for them to secure victory.
