City tell Bellamy to train with Cardiff

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has banned Craig Bellamy from the club's training ground because he is a disruptive influence, according to a report in the Guardian.

The Guardian reported Bellamy was told to train with the reserves last Friday before being asked to stay away altogether until a move away from the club can be sorted out.

A furious Bellamy, who feels he is being marginalised by the club, has returned to his native Wales and has been given permission train with hometown team Cardiff City.

The Bluebirds are hoping to secure a shock loan move for Bellamy but the cash-strapped club would struggle to pay even a fraction of his £95,000-a-week wages.

A Cardiff spokesperson said: "With the number and the names of the clubs being mentioned in connection to Craig it is flattering that we are an option, but at this stage it is pure speculation.

"Being connected to a player of this calibre shows how far we have come, to be even considered in a deal like this.

"We would love it to happen of course, but we are by no means alone in this."

Tottenham are said to want to sign Bellamy on a permanent deal but City are reluctant to do business as they see Spurs as rivals in the league.

Fulham and SPL side Celtic have also expressed an interest in the Welsh international.
