McDonald’s announces Player Escort competition winner 2014
Denziel Jo Armani, a 7 year-old boy from B’kara is this year’s lucky winner of the McDonald’s Player Escort Programme
Next July, Denziel Jo will live the dream and fly to Brazil to participate in a programme of events organised by McDonald’s. Apart from accompanying international football players onto the pitch during the semi-final match of the FIFA™ World Cup 2014, Denziel Jo will make new friendships with other Player Escorts from all over the world. In addition, Denziel Jo will take part in Player Escort matches and explore the amazing sights and sounds of Rio de Janeiro along with a parent or guardian.
Denziel Jo was announced winner of the Player Escort Competition this morning at the Centenary Stadium in Ta’ Qali. Children were encouraged to enter a quiz online to participate in the competition. The 115 children who answered correctly were then invited to a fun football event organised by McDonald’s in collaboration with the Malta Football Association (MFA). This year’s Player Escort competition winner Denziel Jo was drawn by lot during the event.
According to Laura Jasenaite, Group Marketing Director at Premier Capital plc, “We are honoured to be able to offer this unique opportunity in Malta, as a token of our constant gratitude towards our local consumers.”
The good news didn’t simply stop there however. It was announced that a further 114 children would be selected to participate in the UEFA European Under 17™ Championship 2014 later on this year in Malta.
This year, McDonald’s has also chosen to reward adults by giving them the chance to be part of the dream too.
Warren Zammit from Zabbar will be flying to Brazil for a three-night trip of a lifetime, to watch the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals. The prize includes flights, accommodation and a ticket to the match.
Warren was announced as this year’s McDonald’s Adult FIFA World Cup™ Programme winner during a live quiz show hosted by Rodney Vassallo as part of the Kontrattakk Show aired on TVM2. During a live programme from McDonald’s Gharghur, three finalists were asked a series of 25 questions, with Warren taking the lead. Shaun Galea Lucas, Glenn Busuttil, and Josette Azzopardi also competed in the semi-finals.
“McDonald’s proudly sponsors initiatives such as these to thank children, as well as adults by rewarding them with unique memories that will live on, years beyond the tournament,” Ms. Jasenaite said.
