BOV Super Cup – Valletta vs Birkirkara
BOV Premier League champions Valletta take on Birkirkara in tonight’s battle for the BOV Super Cup.
Birkirkara ended last season on a sour note after dominating the majority of it. Valletta managed to win the BOV Premier League title on the last match of the season after they defeated Birkirkara.
Valletta then went on to win the U*BET FA Trophy after they defeated Sliema 1-0.
Valletta’s Gilbert Agius is looking to win his first trophy with the team as a coach.
Valletta have been busy in the transfer market. Goalkeeper Nicky Vella, defender Ryan Camilleri, midfielder Adrian Zahra and Christian Caruana have been added to the squad.
Meanwhile Birkirkara have had less activity in the transfer market. New signings are goalkeeper Adrian Murcia Sanchez, Brazilians Rafael Ledesma, Eliandro Gonzaga and Elinton Morais. Leighton Grech returned to Birkirkara after a two-year spell with Qormi while Edmond Agius joined from Valletta.
Valletta have won the BOV Super Cup ten times while Birkirkara have lifted the trophy six times.
The match is going to take place at National Stadium, kick-off at 19:30.
The gates open at 18:00. The West Stand A will be reserved for Birkirkara supporters and the West Stand C for Valletta supporters. Millennium Stand D will be reserved for neutral fans.
Ticket-prices will be as follows: adults €7, Kartanzjan holders €4 and children under the age of 12 €1.
Tickets will only be available at the gates.
