Aston Villa appoint Gerard Houllier as manager on two-year deal
Gerard Houlier has agreed a two-year deal to becomeAston Villa manager and the move will be formally announced on Wednesday, according to L'Equipe.
Houllier, 63, has been locked in negotiations with the club to make the switch. The parties are expected to sign on the deal on Tuesday night, with a formal announcement following on Wednesday.
French Football Federation president Fernando Duchaussoy stated earlier this week that he would hold discussions with Houllier about leaving his post as technical director imminently. The ex-Liverpool boss is expected to be reunited with assistant Phil Thompson when he succeeds Martin O'Neill at Villa Park.
