Serie A | Eto’o saves lacklustre Inter

Rafa Benitez was right. Time is necessary, perhaps more than expected, to put reigning European and Italian champions back to their former brilliance.

Tonight’s performance was criticized, but it would have been even more had it not been for Eto’o who netted the 2-1 winner for the nerazzurri who confronted a tenacious Udinese.

It was Benitez first win since taking over from Mourinho and Inter’s first seasonal three points.

Lucio gave Inter the lead, while the equalizer was regaled to Udinese from a corner that caught the defence somewhat sleepy with Floro Flores heading past Julio Cesar.

Eto’o miraculously saved Inter from another draw as Udinese’s Handanovic saved his penalty, only to re-tap into the net.
