Floriana defeat champions Birkirkara

Floriana created the best goal-scoring opportunities and had the game in their hands for most of the match.

The Greens went ahead on the 46th minute when Michael Mecerod received a fine pass from Ivan Woods to beat Goalkeeper Manual Bartolo.

Floriana doubled the score in added time of the second half. On the 94th minute midfielder Kiril Dzhorov found the back of the net when he beat Birkirkara goalkeeper Bartolo with a rising shot.

Even though Birkirkara had better possession in the second half they were not the same team that beat Sliema 4-1.
