Inter's Sneijder contract talks stall, Real Madrid return could be possible

Inter recently stated they wanted to extend Sneijder's deal with two years, until June 2015. "But we can't agree on financial terms," said Sneijder's agent, Søren Lerby. "The negotiations have stalled and will only continue if Inter comes up with a solution."

"Wesley was tracked by many clubs after his outstanding performance at the World Cup this summer," Lerby told De Telegraaf. "But he enjoys life in Italy and at Inter and didn't want to turn his back to the club after just one year. He was flattered by (club president) Massimo Moratti's quotes who said Wesley would be Inter's leader for the upcoming years.

"Inter promised Wesley a super salary but unfortunately, they haven't met this promise."

Sneijder won't rule out a return to Real Madrid, according to Lerby. "The club's attitude bothers him. And Real's interest aggravates this," said the Danish agent. "Everybody knows about the special relationship between José Mourinho and Wesley.

"He gets questions about a possible return via his mobile phone and text messages. Real wants to get serious about a transfer."

The 26-year-old midfielder already played at the Santiago Bernabéu between 2007 and 2009. "The forced departure wasn't easy but things have changed now Mourinho coaches Real," added Lerby. "To add to that, Wesley now has won three trophies with Inter and he played a World Cup final, so this would make his return a lot easier.

"A move to Real Madrid is a serious option," concluded Søren Lerby.
