Naxxar and Sliema share spoils in balanced encounter
In a contest lacking entertainment and positive play, Naxxar and Sliema produce a goal less draw at the Hamrun stadium in a reflection of two teams going through disappointing spells in the league.

Naxxar went on the offensive early on in the match and after seven minutes played, Daren Falzon put the ball into net from a Pablo Doffo free kick, before the goal was disallowed for offside. Two minutes later it was Angus Buhagiar who tried his luck from a distance which went wide. On the other end, Sliema forward Djumo Bocar tried his luck which saw Julian Azzopardi making a comfortable save.
On sixteen minutes, young prospect Aiden Friggieri who is quickly establishing himself in Maltese Football as a bright talent; saw his effort go inches wide after a dangerous personal move. On twenty eight minutes, Naxxar where reduced to ten man when Pablo Doffo was giving his marching orders after receiving two yellow cards in a few minutes.
The only goal scoring opportunity in the second half came through Naxxar’s Gilmar Da Silva’s header after a corner kick from Daren Falzon.
