Italy Coach Antonio Conte notified of match fixing investigation
Conte among 130 people notified by state prosecutor
Italy Coach Antonio Conte was among 130 people notified by a state prosecutor that they are currently being investigated in a match fixing case that goes back to nearly five days ago.
Conte is being investigated for committing Sports Fraud when he was in charge of then Serie A team Siena in 2010-2011 although charges were dropped.
More than 50 people have been arrested in Italy for match fixing since mid-2011, with matches under investigation by prosecutors in Cremona, Bari and Naples.
The Azzurri boss is accused of involvement in fixing matches at the end of the season where Siena had already won promotion to the Serie A and other teams were still fighting for promotion.
Conte who has denied any wrong doing, already served a four month sport ban during the 2012-2013.
Conte has also been investigated for fixing when he coached Bari from 2007-2009 with the club from the South of Italy penalized during the 2013-2014 season
