Sliema and Marsaxlokk both register wins

Sliema Wanderes 3 - Hamrun Spartans 1

Sliema got on the scoreboard first on the 18th minute when Obinna Obiefule beat Hamrun goalkeeper Ivan Casha.

As both sides had numerous goal opportunities, On the 59th minute mark, Hamrun levelled the score when from a corner kick by Ryan Fenech, Massimo Grima’s header beat Sliema goalkeeper Viktor Szentpeteri. The first half ended 1-1.

In the second half both teams pressed for the advantage. But late in the second half on the 80th minute Sliema finally went ahead.

Jean Pierre Mifsud found the back of the net following a great build up from Jackson Lima and Obinna Obiefule.

On the 89th minute Hamrun almost leveled again when a header from Martin Hrubsa hit the crossbar.
But it was game over for Hamrun when seconds later Miguel Ciantar passed to Jean Pierre Mifsud who concluded to tap the ball in to make it Sliema 3-1.

Marsaxlokk 1 - Floriana 0

In the other match of the day Marsaxlokk defeated Floriana 1-0.

The only goal of the game came on the 82nd minute when Floriana’s Sacha Borg brought down Dylan Kokavessis inside the area.

A penalty shot was awarded to Marsaxlokk and Julio Cesar Alcorse beat Floriana goalkeeper Lofti Saidi to give them the win.

Both teams had numerous chances during the game, but it was Marsaxlokk who impressed.
