Fr. Tonio Mifsud awarded the Inter Club Malta member of the year for the season 2009-2010
Fr. Tonio Mifsud was awarded the Member of the Year award for the 2009-2010 season, during an activity which was organised at Inter Club Malta’s premises in Santa Venera on the 18th of August where in it, the Club celebrated the 32nd year from when it was founded.
Fr. Tonio, who is currently the club’s Spiritual Director, was always available for the Club and always insisted that the spiritual activities, like the Lenten Spiritual Exercises, were always present in the Club’s calendar which led to the Committee to decide to give the award to Fr. Tonio for the season which has just ended. Also this year happens to be the 25th anniversary from Fr. Tonio’s priesthood.
When receiving the award, the new member of the year thanked the Committee for their choice besides showing his satisfaction and surprise for their choice. He also thanked God for still giving him enough health to help him guiding the Club Members in a spiritual way.
During this activity, three other members were also awarded. John Suda, was awarded for defending the colours of the Treble Winning team on the media and also for taking every occasion available to show that he was an Inter supporter. Chev. Albert Delia was also given award for being the longest-living local Inter supporter. One has to point out that in 1938, a three-year old Delia had a picture of him published on the Italian magazine, “Il Calcio Illustrato” where he was already showing his love to the Inter colours. Geoffrey Farrugia was the third member awarded during the function. Farrugia is always of a help to the club’s everyday needs, especially in technical problems.
